Kalia Indian Cuisine, located at 8518 Greenwood Ave N in Seattle, has quickly become a beloved spot for Indian food enthusiasts. Customers rave about the warm, familial hospitality provided by Abi and his family, creating an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of home-cooked meals. The genuine care for their dishes is evident in every bite; as one reviewer noted, the fresh ground spices truly shine in each offering.
Highlights include the popular chicken korma and various naan options, both praised for their generous portions and balanced spiciness. While the ambiance is modest, diners appreciate the unpretentious setting, allowing the focus to remain on the flavorful cuisine. The chef's personal touch, as mentioned by multiple guests, enhances the dining experience, making patrons feel valued and connected.
Though there have been a few critiques—like a misstep with the Chana masala—overall, Kalia Indian Cuisine stands out for its consistent quality and friendly service. It’s a charming neighborhood gem where the food is delicious, and the people make you feel right at home. This truly is a place you wouldn’t want to overlook!

Kaila is our go to Indian spot. Abi and his family has the best form of hospitality that reminds you of your grandmother. You can taste and feel the fresh ground spices in the food. Don’t sleep on this place

We had the chicken korma, garlic naan, and chicken tama chili. Heat level 3. Our food was excellent. The chef came and spoke with us and was very kind. The portions were generous. We had a little bit leftover but not too much so I think they got that just right. It was spicy and warm but not hot. The restaurant facilities are modest and humble, not designed for Instagram, but this is the kind of place that should thrive because the plate is good and the people are warm. I will come again!

Amazing service with personal recommendations as to what we would like and the best beers they had on the menu. Great food as well. Very “ma and pa” style environment. Highly recommend. Food was so good, forgot to take more pics.

We've ordered takeout from here maybe a dozen times. Many delicious items on the menu. Lamb korma, lentil soup, too many other things to mention. I did want to say that the Chana masala in our last order was inedible though - very heavy on the vinegar, and we threw it out. This won't keep us from ordering again, but I hope that they read this and make some adjustments.

We eat here often and have tried nearly every dish on the menu, and they’ve all been great! All the naan variations are very good. Very friendly and quick service.

Went here with a large group of friends, the staff was so nice and helpful, giving recommendations, portioning our food out for sharing and giving me this feeling of Goa without the flight to India. The only thing we argued about was which dish was the best, would recommend house lamb/chicken biryani.

Attended 20 person after wedding lunch at Kalia. The facility was very nice. The staff and management were just wonderful! They were very attentive to our party. The food was very fresh, hot and plentiful. This is a great place for a very tasty Indian cuisine.

Indian is one of my favorite cuisines so I guess it's safe to say I have tried a lot. Without a doubt, Kalia on Greenwood has become MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PLACE FOR INDIAN CUISINE....so much that if we are in town, we go at least once a week! Yes, it's that good! We have tried several dishes on the menu (and enjoyed them all) but we have discovered certain dishes that have become our favorites - Punjabi Vegetables Pakoras, Aloo Tiki, Chicken Mulligatawany (all 3 were the best I've had in Seattle) Tawa Chili, Special Tandoor, Saag Paneer (best I've had in Seattle) and one that's not on the menu, Rogan Josh (they have made the best version of this I have tried)! I think you get the point. Beyond the wonderful flavors, this place succeeds where many restaurants don't...consistency. We expect a certain standard here and they always deliver. Plus, if you like spicy, this is a place that is not afraid to go bold - if you want it. Almost as important as the food, is the friendly service by the family who owns and runs this place. We've gone there enough that they know what we want before we even have to say it, and we don't just feel like friends when we are there, but we feel like family. This place has a comfortable, unpretentious atmosphere, and we have shared this place with several friends. Give this place a try, and we're confident you'll love it as much as we do.
